Nadia Narine

Nadia has over two decades of experience in various Quality Assurance/Technical roles. She has worked within a variety of food manufacturing facilities, as well as retail, which include industries such as bakery, confectionery, and dairy. Nadia has expertise in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Food Safety, and Hygiene. Nadia is a BRCGS Approved Training Partner for Food, Storage & Distribution, Packaging, Agents and Brokers, and Retail. With SQF she is a certified consultant, auditor, and trainer. Nadia is currently the Owner/President of Lumar Food Safety Services Ltd and is the recipient of the Approved Training Partner and Consultant of the year for BRC 2017, the Alumnus of Distinction Award from Centennial College in 2018, and Auditor of the year 2019 BCRGS. 
Nadia is currently a member of, IAFP, and OFPA.  She is the current Chair for the Sanitation and Hygiene Professional Development group for IAFP, the SQF Training center technical advisory committee representative.  Nadia’s educational background includes Industrial Microbiology honors diploma, Marketing bachelors, certificate in management, Six Sigma, and ongoing courses for professional development in food safety. She has attended University of Toronto, Centennial College, and York University.

Gwynne Sitsker

Gwynne is a food safety and quality specialist with a strong passion for the strategic development of food safety and quality management systems. She has over 10 years of experience holding various quality assurance and technical roles within the bakery industry.

Currently, Gwynne holds the position of Quality Manager at Embassy Ingredients – where she leads the Quality Department and maintains various certifications such as BRCGS, organic, gluten free (GFCP), non-GMO verification project, kosher and halal. Gwynne is currently a member of the BRCGS Global Professionals Group, IAFP and OFPA. She is PCQI certified, maintains a BRC Professional status and holds a B.Sc degree in biological chemistry from Guelph University.

Denise Horseman

Denise Horseman is a creative and energetic marketing and events professional with exceptional communication, management and entrepreneurial expertise. She is an ideas person with strong execution skills through a combination of effective planning, research, critical thinking and determination. 

Recently retired from her marketing role at NSF International (a global leader in food safety, training, quality and technical solutions), where she implemented new and existing marketing strategies to highlight and boost the NSF brand.  Denise is an avid golfer, loves to garden and has a passion for interior design.  First and foremost, Denise’s personal interests and activities get put aside to allow her to spend time with her five grandchildren.

Laurie Sawyer

Laurie Sawyer is the Food Safety/Quality Assurance Manager at the vertical farm GOODLEAF Farms. She has 15 years in the food processing industry. Laurie has experience in commodities such as cereal; cereal bars; meat processing; baking and is now enjoying her time on the farm growing microgreen and baby greens.

Laurie graduated from Durham College with her Advance Diploma in applied sciences: food and pharmaceutical technologies and has a passion for food safety. When Laurie isn’t on the farm she is experimenting in the kitchen or being a leader for the organization, Girl Guides of Canada.

Brett Dooley

Brett Dooley offers over a decade’s worth of experience in defining strategies and approaches necessary to deliver core business solutions while simultaneously demonstrating an uncompromising emphasis on client service and account performance excellence. He is a strategic thinker with a keen acumen for seeing the big picture; easily able to establish rapport with clients, colleagues, and senior leadership.

Brett currently holds the position of Senior Food Safety Consultant with AFCO / Zep and works every day to promote Food Safety by providing industry-leading products and services. Brett has a true passion for Food Safety and helping his clients. When he is not working, Brett also has a passion for travel and always looks forward to new opportunities.

Megan Saunders

Megan has worked in roles within the food industry for over the last 10 years. She started her career in quality assurance and food safety within the produce sector where she implemented and maintained a HACCP program and prepared the facility for GFSI certification. She moved on to the bakery industry were she held progressive roles including QA Customer Care Team Leader, Supplier Quality Team Leader, and also worked in confectionary goods as a Compliance Manager. She has experience maintaining facility certifications such as BRC, Kosher, Organic, and RSPO. She is currently the Innovation Quality Manager at Restaurant Brands International.

Along with her Advanced Diploma in Pharmaceutical and Food Science from Durham College, Megan believes in continuing to build her knowledge. She is a BRC Global Standards Professional, is PCQI certified, and plans to continue to build on her professional knowledge with relevant certifications and courses. During her personal time she enjoys cooking Hungarian food with her grandmother at their family cottage, and spending time with her daughter.

Aaron Aboud

Aaron Aboud is a food safety and quality specialist with over 13 years of progressive food manufacturing experience. He is currently the Quality Control Manager at Trophy Foods, leading a team of quality and sanitation professionals at the BRCGS A+ certified facility. Before joining Trophy, Aaron worked for a number of sauce and beverage companies in product development, process improvement, and food safety & quality roles. He is PCQI and Six Sigma Green Belt certified, has a diploma in Illustration from Sheridan college and graduated from the University of Guelph Food Science program. He is loving his current role at Trophy where he is working on several continuous improvement strategies with his fantastic team. Aaron has a passion for sports and fitness, loves spending time with his family outdoors and painting in his studio.

Jessica Burke

With over 18 years of experience, Jessica began her career in an environmental and food testing laboratory. Following that, she held various roles in quality assurance and food safety in the food manufacturing industry, where she helped multiple companies strengthen their food safety systems and achieve GFSI certification. Jessica has held multiple roles within BRCGS, including Technical Specialist for the Gluten-Free Certification Program and Plant-Based Global Standard, and Senior Technical Manager for the Americas region.  In her current position as Delivery Partners Relationship Manager, her role is to support BRCGS Delivery Partners in delivering world class service, through collaboration, facilitation and technical education.

Anal Dave

Anal has been working in the food industry for over 13 years and holds a Masters degree in Food Safety, as well as a B.Eng. in Food Processing. His experience includes working for organizations ranging from small family owned companies to multinationals. Anal is BRCGS Approved Training Partner and PCQI. He is passionate about continuous learning and sharing his knowledge of food safety and quality systems.

He currently works as Director of Food Safety & Quality at Dessert Holdings, North America’s premium dessert company. In this role he serves as a food safety regulatory expert, and is responsible for maintaining compliance against third party, customer, and social responsibility standards across all facilities.

Loveline Tikum

Loveline Tikum is the Head of Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for Chudleigh’s Limited, a privately-owned Canadian company that leads in frozen baked desserts sold in major Canadian and United state grocery store chains, supermarkets and restaurants, Europe, Mexico, Japan, Australia and Korea.

Loveline received her post grad degree in Environmental Sciences and a Master’s Degree of sciences at the University of Hohenheim in Germany. She fluently speaks English French and German.  She has over 15 years of experience in excelling in sustaining food safety, quality, and regulatory standards such as Fairtrade, RSPO, Vegan, halal, Organic, Non-GE etc in prestigious organizations including, Maple Leaf Food, Compass Group, Ecocert & Goodleaf farms. During the years, she held various positions.

With her fluent knowledge and understanding in FSMA, USDA, CFIA, KFDA, JFDA and GFSI schemes, Loveline has proven professional records in auditing, investigations, customer/ consumer affairs, labelling and regulatory compliance, product development, allergen management, sanitation program development and implementation, supplier approval program management and business solutions that work. As a BRC professional, building product safety culture through employee trainings, teamwork and collaboration has been her priority.

Paul Valder

Paul Valder is the cofounder and Chief Technical Officer of Purity-IQ Incorporated, a global biotechnology for-profit organization delivering innovative genomic and metabolic quality assurance tools to industry.
Over the past 30 years, Paul has pioneered many of the industry’s new technologies and standards. His experience includes founding the Allergen Control Group, leading QMI-SAI Global Agri-Food Group as the Executive Director, leading Steritech as their Vice President, founding Canada’s only Food Safety and Quality trade magazine, being an active Board member for George Brown College’s food incubator program. He has volunteered as a Board member for the Ottawa-based Canadian Supply Chain and Food Safety Coalition, participating on the committee responsible, with federal, provincial and territorial government stakeholders, for the development of a “National Strategy for Industry-led Food Safety Programs”.
Paul is seen as a subject matter expert, providing independent and professional “first-in-class” risk-based process and management system advice to those senior leaders of organizations seeking to become recognized management systems or standards, in health, safety, security, environment, and sustainability.

Jacob Barber

Jacob Barber is a detail-oriented problem solver with 8 years of experience in client management. He is a passionate environmentalist, focused on providing the most sustainable solutions to his clients, while maximizing efficiencies. He excels in relationship building and understanding the unique challenges that his clients face. 

Jacob joined Chemstation in 2017 as an account manager where they provide customized cleaning & sanitizing products, delivered to a unique refillable tank system. He is a HACCP certified/ SQF practitioner with a passion for food safety. He focuses on continued education, through completing courses including Conestoga College’s Effective Cleaning & Sanitation program. In his personal time, Jacob enjoys spending time with his family, watching his favorite sports teams and seeing the world.

Mike Byerley

Michael Bayerley is the Owner and Principal of Michael Byerley Consulting Inc.  He is a Food Safety professional, as well as a Canadian Registered Safety professional (Occupational Health) who has taught at both business and educational locations. Most recently he has taught at UOIT in Oshawa, Humber College and George Brown College in Toronto.   Previously, Michael worked with both Sobeys Groceries and Compass Group Canada where he was responsible for ensuring that all Food Safety programs were effectively executed at the store and warehouse level. He managed a team of Food Safety Specialists to deliver programs, monitor compliance and develop action plans to address scorecard and audit gaps. Michael has also monitored and supervised many major events over the years including the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, the 2010 Canada Games in PEI, 2002 Papal Visit to Toronto, Sars Stock concert (with the Rolling Stones), Indy Car Races, Tennis Canada, PGA Golf and more. Since 2017 he has been consulting with a variety of clients including manufacturing of food products. He also works with clients to conduct reviews and provide on-site training in full service  and quick service establishments.
